Yes! Jedi Apprentice Books, the rave of books by Obi-Wan fans. But wait, there's more! Oh so
much more. These books are put out by Scholastic, and if you read many books, you know that they
are a childrens book publisher. Yes, Jedi Apprentice books are childrens books, but if you read
any reviews on them, everyone loves them.
This is book 1 of the Jedi Apprentice, entitled "The Rising Force"!
This book is the beginning to the series, of course, and it starts you off while Obi-Wan is still
in the Jedi Temple getting his training. He is about to turn 13yrs old in 2 weeks, which, by
Temple rules, means that after that birthday, you can no longer become a padawan. Obi-Wan is
waiting, impatiently, to be chosen as an apprentice, but the only Master who is going to come to
the Temple is Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn, who has not taken an apprentice since his former master
died. Suddenly, Obi-Wan is to be sent away from the Temple to become a farmer! The worst thing
that can happen to a student is that. Horrified, he sees his only way to get out of that life is
to impress Qui-Gon Jinn. But will Qui-Gon take him on as a Padawan?
Book 2 is entitled "The Dark Rival"!
"The Dark Rival" starts you off almost exactly after book 1, which I love. Obi-Wan is still to
become a farmer, Qui-Gon will not take him on as a padawan, no matter how bravely he fought.
Obi-Wan is overcome with sadness, but he will learn to survive. Qui-Gon has other matters on his
mind, besides Obi-Wan. His old Padawan Xanathos is on the same planet, and he's playing a deadly
game with Qui-Gon, with Obi-Wan used as revenge! Will Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon be able to stop Xanathos?
How far will his deadly game go? Will Obi-Wan ever be accepted as a padawan by Qui-Gon Jinn?
Book 3 is entitled "The Hidden Past"!
"The Hidden Past", which I just reread for the billionth time, is the story of Qui-Gon Jinn and
Obi-Wan being hijacked, fired upon, abandoned, and then asked for help by two brother Phindians.
The only problem is that the whole world is under repression, and the standard punishment is to
have your memory wiped, and no one has ever withstood it! Can the two Jedi take on an entire
goverment, and win? And what of the memory wipe, will our Jedi friends be subjected to it?
